Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2017-03997_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: Stockholm University. Funded amount: SEK 3,600,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2018-01-01 to 2021-12-31. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Den kondenserade materiens fysik, Condensed Matter Physics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-05); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: We will develop a theoretical understanding of collective states of Quantum and Dirac materials (DM) subjected to time dependent fields. Novel states of quantum matter e.g. quantum Hall effect, topological states, frustrated magnetism all arise due to coupling of competing degrees of freedom: lattice, charge and spin. These states are studied in equilibrium. Field now arrived at the stage where we can induce, control and manipulate collective states by applying time dependent drives. There is a significant potential in this field to: i) to discover new transient and driven states of matter that have no analog among the equilibrium states, ii) to develop predictive models of quantum matter in time domain- a crucial step needed in technological applications like quantum computing. We will combine analytic and numerical methods: nonequilibrium quantum dynamics, Keldysh technique and numerical simulations. Important component of our search strategy is the use of database on organic materials and the latest developments in data mining and machine learning to search for new relevant materials. We are and will be strongly coupled to the research in this field in Sweden and internationally. With the arrival of MaxIV and ESS we will be well positioned to inform and interact with the experiment.Timeline: year 1-2: focus on Driven DMyear 2-3: focus on Driven Quantum materials and topological transitionsyear 3-4: focus on novel Quantum materials and novel techniques of temporal control
