In short: Every public dataset in one place, with formats and licences. Pick a theme below or download the whole catalogue; each dataset folds its field dictionary. Go to the datasets

Every public dataset the portal publishes, in one place: what it contains, its formats, its licence and how to credit it, how often it changes and what each field means. The data is free to reuse; the licence of each dataset says how.

53 datasets in 6 themes, 69 downloads (CSV 20, ICS 4, JSON 45).

How to reuse and credit the data

How to reuse

Each dataset names its licence. The portal’s own compilations are under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0: copy, adapt and share them for any purpose, crediting the portal and the sources named. Where a dataset restates figures from a document that has no open licence, the facts are cited with attribution and the document’s own terms apply to the document itself.

Credit line

Name the dataset, the portal and the licence, and keep the source credit given with the dataset, for example:

Funding instruments for quantum work, Quantum Europe (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)). Compiled from the official pages of each funder, named in every record's sources.

Licences used

  • Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): Reuse for any purpose, including commercial use, with credit to the portal and to the sources named with the dataset. The portal's own compilations, wording and calculations, and the EU sources reused under the Commission's reuse policy (Decision 2011/833/EU, with Commission Decision C(2019) 1655 adopting CC BY 4.0 as its reuse licence), use this licence.
  • Each record keeps its source's licence: The portal's own fields and calculations are CC BY 4.0; records or fields taken from a source keep that source's licence, named with the dataset (for example GitHub's terms for repository descriptions written by maintainers). The DCAT catalogue declares CC BY 4.0 for the portal's compilation and states the source terms in dct:rights.
  • Open Database Licence 1.0 (ODbL 1.0, share-alike): The export includes rows derived from an ODbL 1.0 source (the French ANR open data on data.gouv.fr), so the database is offered under ODbL 1.0: credit the portal and the sources named with the dataset, share a public adapted database alike under ODbL 1.0, and add no technical restriction. Rows from the other sources (CORDIS and the EU Funding & Tenders Portal under the Commission's reuse policy, CC BY 4.0, and the national funders under their open licences) keep their own attribution.
  • Facts cited with attribution; the source document's terms apply: Figures and statements restated, with page or locator, from documents that carry no open licence. Cite the document named with each figure; the documents themselves are not copied. The portal's own calculations and wording in these datasets are CC BY 4.0, the licence the DCAT catalogue declares; the documents' terms are stated in dct:rights.

Rate limits

Downloads are limited per visitor (per account when signed in, otherwise per IP address) so the portal stays fast for everyone. Above the limit the answer is HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header; wait and try again. Answers served from the page cache do not count. Download once and keep a copy rather than polling: the update frequency of each dataset says how often it can change.
