Project funded by Research Council of Finland, grant 354735. Participating organisations named by the source: University of Jyväskylä. Funded amount: EUR 558,923, as stated by the source. Runs 2023-09-01 to 2027-08-31. Keywords: Physical sciences. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2026-07-23); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: This theoretical physics project studies the functionality of new quantum materials in microwave fields. Recent technological progress has enabled physicists and materials scientists to create two-dimensional layered materials. At low temperatures relevant for quantum technology they form different types of correlated electronic states such as magnets or superconductors, depending on their elemental structure. Combining different types of materials allows creating structures where magnetism and superconductivity live side by side, changing the behaviour of one another. This allows creating new types of functionalities for applications in electronics, but already studying the hybrid materials creates new knowledge about phases of matter. This project focuses on the use of such hybrid quantum materials in high-speed electronics by studying their response to microwave regime electromagnetic signals.
