Abstract given by the source: My Ph.D. project aims to improve the current state-of-art of quantum communication by developing an experimental setup capable of implementing and studying entanglement-assisted prepare-and-measure scenarios. This is in line with current developments in the area that targets more efficient and secure protocols. To do this, I will start by creating the necessary sources of quantum states. Then, I will focus on developing simple setups that implement quantum communication protocols and Bell Scenarios. These include detection workstations capable of performing both simple and joint measurements. Finally, I will combine these systems to accomplish the main goal of investigating these very recent and promising scenarios. These setups will also serve as test benches for future work.
