Project funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT) (6817 - DCRRNI ID; Investigador FCT), grant IF/00433/2015/CP1322/CT0002. Funded amount: EUR 190,765, as stated by the source. Runs 2017-01-01 to 2020-07-30. Keywords: N/A. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-07-18); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: I was awarded a master degree in Physical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (TU Lisbon) in 2007. In 2011, I obtained the PhD degree in Physics (also at IST) in the field of cold atoms and quantum plasmas. I performed mainly theoretical work, but I was also responsible for the fist stages in the construction of a cold atomic lab, the first ever built in Portugal. During the PhD, I authored more than 9 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, being once awarded the prize for the best poster, and participated in the doctoral school of Les Houches. In 2012, I moved to Clermont-Ferrand (France) to work in the field of semi-conductor microstructures as a Marie Curie Fellow, under the supervision of Guillaume Malpuech (Institut Pascal), a well-recognized expert in basic and applied modeling of polaritonic and photonic systems. In 2014, I then moved to Innsbruck (Austria) with the ERC synergy grant UQUAM, to work in the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in the fields of quantum optics and cold atoms, within the group of Peter Zoller. Since June 2015, I am a research scientist within the EU project PAPETS to work of quantum open systems in the Physics of Information group (Instituto de Telecomunicações). Currently, I am author of 1 book published in Springer, 1 chapter in a book edited by W. Ketterle et al in Cambridge (to appear), 21 papers in peer-review journals, 1 article in conference proceedings. I have actively reviewing for top-ranked journals. I have participated in ~17 international conferences, delivered 15 oral communications in conferences and seminars and has participated in international collaborations resulting in more than 10 posters. I have also been involved in the organization of two international conferences (one held in Azores back to 2008, "International Conference on the Physics of Dusty Plasmas", and another held in Lisbon back to 2011, "International Topical Conference on Plasma Science [shortened; the full text is on the OpenAIRE page]
