Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Research environment), grant 2016-06860_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: KTH, Royal Institute of Technology. Funded amount: SEK 175,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2016-11-01 to 2016-11-30. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Den kondenserade materiens fysik, Condensed Matter Physics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-04); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: The conference ”Frontiers of topological quantum matter” will bring together leading theory and experimental experts to discuss their latest results and open questions at the very forefront of the field of topological quantum matter. There will be a special focus on topological semimetals, the so-called Weyl semimetals, which were physically realized only about a year ago and have already been shown to host a number of truly remarkable properties. The conference will be held at the Alba Nova University Centre in Stockholm on May 1-5th, 2017 and will be hosted by Nordita, the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics. The conference website, which is still under construction, is http://www.nordita.org/tqm2017. Two of the organizers, Jens H. Bardarson and Emil Bergholtz, recently started faculty positions at KTH and Stockholm University, and Annica Black Schaffer is a faculty member at Uppsala. The conference thus additionally serves to advertise new activities in Sweden to the wider research community.
