Operation co-funded by EU cohesion policy (European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) under the programme Multi-regional Spain - ERDF (2014ES16RFOP002), managing authority: Subdirección General de Gestión del FEDER, de la Dirección General de Fondos Europeos del Ministerio de Hacienda.. The source names no beneficiary for this operation. Location: Province of Asturias (NUTS ES120); Spain. Budget: total eligible expenditure EUR 361,790; EU co-financing EUR 289,432 (co-financing rate 80%), as stated by the source. Runs 2014-01-01 to 2016-12-31. Source: Kohesio, EU cohesion policy projects managed by national and regional authorities (not CORDIS); selected because its summary names quantum technology. Summary from Kohesio (English machine translation by the source): THERE IS NO DOUBT THE GREAT POTENTIAL OF CANCER BIOMARKERS BOTH IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND IN THE MONITORING OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CLINICAL INTERVENTIONS. THEY CAN ALSO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON THE FORECAST OF THE DISEASE CONSIDERED BY FACILITATING THE USE OF APPROPRIATE TREATMENTS AS WELL AS ITS IMMEDIATE CORRECTIONS NEEDED IN INCREASINGLY “CUSTOMISED” THERAPIES. For it, today there is a great demand of techniques and strategies that are more expensive and reliable for the measurement of biomarkers in biologics, to assist in taking medical decisions. IN THIS SENTIED, this PROJECT aims to continuate the quality researcher that takes place in the Analytic SPECTROMETRIA GROUP of OVIEDO UNIVERSITY (HTTP://WWW.UNIOVIEDO.ES/ANALYTICALSPECTROMETRY/), DURING ULTIMES 34 YEARS in the search of new and selling biomolecules determinations in life sciences. in this project, a basic analytic search is proposed in the two MAESTRAL lines (GENERAL OBJECTIVES) Next: LINE 1: “Sources of IONISATION AND TECHNICAL OF IONES FOR FINAL DETECTION BY MASS SPECTROMETRIA” is a new ANALITIC INSTRUMENTAL DEVELOPMENT LINE, which includes new PLASMA IONISATION FUENTS FOR THE ANALISIS OF ORGANIC FURTHER COMPOSES (VOCS) by much more. AT THE SAME TIME, THE AIM IS TO INVESTIGATE AN ION SEPARATION TECHNIQUE, BASED ON IONICA MOBILITY, AS A MASS ANALYSER AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. In this line we will work in coordination between subprojects 1 and 2. LINE 2: “New STRATEGYS BASED IN Nanoparticulas, NANO AND BIO-TECNOLOGIAS”. PONDING STRATEGYS ANALYTICAL STRATEGICS that help to increase the sensibility of the active determinations of biomarkers. THUS A FIRST PARTIAL OBJECTIVE WILL BE TO TEST THE ANALYTICAL POTENTIAL OF A RECENT INSTRUMENT (ICP-MS, QQQ, AGILENT) FOR THE QUANTIFICATION OF PHOSPHORYLATED PROTEINS (E.G. MYOSIN) RELATED TO MELANOMAS. IN ADDITION, THE USE OF QUANTUM DOTS (QDS) AND GOLD “NANO CLUSTERS” AS ELEMENTAL MARKERS FOR SELECTIVE IMMUNOASSAYS OF CERTAIN PROTEINS IN BREAST CANCER (E.G. MMP11) WAS [shortened; the full text is on the Kohesio page]
