Operation co-funded by EU cohesion policy (European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) under the programme Integrated Infrastructure - SK - ERDF/CF (2014SK16M1OP001), managing authority: Ministerstvo dopravy a výstavby SR. Beneficiary: Univerzita Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach. Location: Košice Region (NUTS SK042); Slovakia. Budget: total eligible expenditure EUR 265,258.53; EU co-financing EUR 225,469.75 (co-financing rate 85%), as stated by the source. Runs 2016-01-01 to 2019-01-12. Summary from Kohesio (English machine translation by the source): The main objective of the project New unconventional magnetic materials for applications is to stabilise a high-quality research team in the field of research Material engineering and nanotechnology. The project allows to realise the activity of independent research and development at UPJŠ in Košice in the run-up to 31.12.2019 with two returning Slovak researchers and one foreign researcher and publishing results in 15 works. The project will carry out independent research and development in the field of advanced magnetic materials, the main theme of which is in line with current trends in the reduction of energy consumption in electrical equipment and the development of new technologies for the sustainable development of the company. In the field of quantum technologies, we will focus on the theoretical study of the robustness of quantum interconnecting of low-dimensional spin systems against temperature fluctuations and interface properties in the heterostructure of the InAs semiconductor and the EUS magnetic semiconductor. The experimental study will focus on understanding relaxation processes in molecular nanomagnets, depositioning them on a suitable substrate and assessing the suitability for the creation of basic building units for quantum computing technologies. In the field of magnetic cooling, we will develop appropriate methodologies for the preparation of magnetic nanosystems based on magnetic nanoparticles with tunable values of magnetic entropy change using electron lithography and various chemical techniques and then magnetically characterise them. In the field of electro-cells, it is essential to develop materials that will provide the lowest energy losses when they are overmagneted in high-frequency applications, including the refinement of new experimental study methodologies using three different geometrical sample layouts. Influencing grain growth and other advanced methods of handling magnetic domain structure in electrotechnical steels will [shortened; the full text is on the Kohesio page]
