Project funded by Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova) (Project grant), grant 2016-02726_Vinnova. Participating organisations named by the source: RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. Funded amount: SEK 1,800,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2016-08-01 to 2019-06-30. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Annan fysik, Other Physics Topics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-04); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: Purpose and goal: Quantum physics is used at the Swedish national laboratory for electrical quantities for the realizations of two electrical SI-system units, the volt and the ohm. The aim of the project was to develop new or improved measurement methods and realizations. Expected results and effects: The measurement methods for the realizations have been improved. For example, an automated Josephson standard for realizations and measurements up to 10 V and a quantum Hall effect system with the use of a dry cryostat and graphene Hall samples. With the improved methods new calibration services can be developed and offered to customers. The results have partly been published and have also increased our capabilities for future national and EURAMET research projects. Approach and implementation: The project was divided into four different parts. Part 1 and part 2 are direct current applications of the Josephson effect and the quantum Hall effect, respectively. Part 3 and part 4 are alternating current applications of the Josephson effect. The quantum Hall effect in graphene is today a possibility for the realization of electrical resistance unit, the ohm, with a rapid development of graphene sample fabrication methods and measurement systems. This part of the project became extended compared to original project plan.
