Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2018-05572_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: Stockholm University. Funded amount: SEK 3,560,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2019-01-01 to 2022-12-31. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Subatomär fysik, Subatomic Physics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-04); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: Quantum Field Theory (QFT) describes diverse natural phenomena but its structure and dynamics are still mysterious, especially when strongly coupled as in many interesting systems (e.g. high T superconductors, nuclear forces). The aim of this project is to derive new exact results in strongly interacting QFT. Supersymmetric field theories are very interesting in this respect because they can be studied exactly even at strong coupling and their dynamics displays phenomena, like confinement, that occur in nature. My research in the past few years has initiated a general framework to understand supersymmetry in curved spaces. I am now positioned to push these ideas towards the goal of devising new exact probes of the dynamics of QFT. I will form a research group (with postdocs and a student) that will tackle these objectives in four years.Obj I: Classify all space-times M allowing for supersymmetry allowing new classes of observables to be determined exactly in Obj IV.Obj II: Study the conformal field theories encoding the dynamics of strongly coupled supersymmetric systems at large distances. Obj III: Explore the relations between supersymmetric theories in different dimensions, establishing new dualities or re-interpreting known ones. The results besides providing new tools to study QFT can be used to shed light on quantum gravity using holography. Finally, the study of the interplay of QFT and geometry could lead to new useful developments connecting Physics and Mathematics.
