Abstract given by the source: Quantum Rectification is an emerging design principle which utilizes quantum properties of matter to control and modify their behavior. This research proposal seeks to establish fundamental rules governing the formation of rectified orders and the formation of quasi-stationary quantum rectified states in driven quantum matter. Utilizing classical examples of rectifification while exploring the "quantumness" of input drives and output fields, this proposal seeks to enhance our understanding of the principles and symmetries that give rise to rectified orders in quantum systems. Our primary goals are to develop a comprehensive theoretical framework for quantum rectification across different quantum systems, identify key phenomena and mechanisms driving rectified orders to emerge in driven quantum matter, and contribute to an overall better understanding of quantum dynamics in material design. As part of creating a general framework, we will examine specific examples of rectifification, such as inducing magnetization via the dynamical multiferroicity effect, Kapitza stabilizing quantum critical points and light-induced vorticity in superconductors. Our research will lay the groundwork for future advancements in this field.
