Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2009-07651_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: KTH, Royal Institute of Technology. Funded amount: SEK 101,300, as stated by the source. Runs 2010-01-01 to 2010-12-31. Keywords: Oklassificerat, Unclassified. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-06); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: In the conference ``Quantum solids, liquids, and gases´´ we will bring together leading experts on the rapidly developing fields of cold systems, where quantum effects are crucial for proper physical understanding and where quantum mechanics makes possible new types of states and phases without classical analogs. Often researchers have a strong focus only on the progress in their own field, but here we will bring together scientists with backgrounds in different types of quantum systems, whether in solid state systems, liquids (such as liquid helium), or cold gases. We expect that interactions between scientists working in these fields, which are not very far apart fundamentally, but which nevertheless involve systems with very different interactions or very different parameter regimes, will be of utmost importance. We wish to bring together world class scientists who have expertise in different types of quantum many-body systems to discuss and learn from each other. We hope that the conference will establish new contacts and collaborations as well as initiate new lines of research on the quantum phases of matter. The conference will give an excellent opportunity for students and researchers in many Nordic groups working in these and related fields to benefit and interact in a world class research environment.
