Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2013-08940_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: Linnaeus University. Funded amount: SEK 120,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2014-01-01 to 2014-12-31. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Atom- och molekylfysik och optik, Atom and Molecular Physics and Optics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-05); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: Quantum Theory: from Problems to Advances, QTPA. The dates: June 9-12, place: Växjö; the number of participants is around 100; web: lnu.se/qtpa The conference is devoted to the recent progress in solution of the basic problems in foundations of quantum theory, including quantum information. It will collect world´s top researchers both in theory and experiment (e.g., G. Börk, A. Zeilinger, F. De Martini, A. Migdal, G. Weihs and M. Ozawa, I. Bengtsson, P. Delsing, L. Smolin). A special section is devoted to the recent success (both in theory and experiment) in testing violations of Bell´s inequality. It is expected that the first loophole free experiment will be announced in Växjö, in June 2014. Another special session is devoted to relativistic quantum information processing, the topic on the boundary between relativity theory and quantum information. Finally, a special session is devoted to theory and experiment in research on quantum effects in general relativity. We also plan a series of invited talks covering the whole spectrum of foundational problems, such as e.g. measurement problem, contextuality, violation of precision-disturbance analog of the Heisenberg´s inequality. Besides invited talks, the conference organizing committee will select a number of contributed papers. Nowadays these problems are not only of theoretical value, but they have strong impact for quantum cryptography, quantum random generators, quantum computing and novel quantum simulators.
