Project funded by Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova) (Project grant), grant 2024-03550_Vinnova. Participating organisations named by the source: KTH, Royal Institute of Technology. Funded amount: SEK 150,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2024-11-08 to 2025-05-31. Keywords: Oklassificerat, Unclassified. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-06); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: Purpose and goal: In Stage 1, the primary focus will be establishing a strong collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Chalmers University of Technology (CTH) in Sweden and the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore. A short-term stay in Singapore, followed by follow-up work in Sweden, will be dedicated to developing a prototype of a programmable universal photonic circuit designed for resource efficient operation in a larger Hilbert space. Expected results and effects: Our vision for Stage 1 achievements include: (1) Develop a prototype of a programmable photonic circuit designed for resource efficient operation; (2) Explore the feasibility of encoding information using multi-photon quantum states, enhancing resource efficiency in P-QNNs; (3) Investigate and new methods for characterizing photonic circuits; (4) Establish a strong collaboration framework between KTH and CQT, including regular exchanges of researchers and shared resources. Approach and implementation: WP1 Preparation: First, arrange a start-up meeting with CQT and negotiate with Vinnova about the visit; WP2 Short visit to CQT: A short-term visit to Singapore and formulate the idea of resource-efficient P-QNNs and potential applications in real-life; WP3: Follow up work: Work on the novel architecture P-QNNs design, validate the encoding scheme with simulation and optimize entanglement source. Success will be measured by key milestones, such as the completion of the GDS file design.
