Operation co-funded by EU cohesion policy (European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) under the programme Smart growth - PL - ERDF (2014PL16RFOP001), managing authority: Ministerstwo obsługujące ministra właściwego ds. rozwoju regionalnego. The source names no beneficiary for this operation. Location: Trójmiejski (NUTS PL633); Poland. Budget: total eligible expenditure EUR 488,313.07; EU co-financing EUR 488,313.07 (co-financing rate 100%), as stated by the source. Runs 2018-05-01 to 2022-01-29. Summary from Kohesio (English machine translation by the source): Quantum technologies based on quantum correlations are soon to change the way we process information and communicate. In fact, recently companies started to commercialise them offering such devices as quantum Simulators manufactured by D-Wave Systems. However, how can a user trust that the acquired device indeed exploits quantum effects? The rapid development of quantum technologies creates an urgent need to design methods to certify whether quantum devices really operate in a non-classical way. The main aim of this project is to respond to this need. We will provide efficient protocols of self-testing-a device-independent certification method-for multipartite quantum states. We expect to obtain methods that are robust to experimental imperfections, paving a way towards realistic certification protocols. To reach this goal we will also study certain aspects of nonlocality and entanglement in multipartite quantum states and provide efficient methods of their detection.
