Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2011-04042_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: Stockholm University. Funded amount: SEK 2,250,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2011-01-01 to 2013-12-31. Keywords: Naturvetenskap, Natural Sciences, Fysik, Physical Sciences, Den kondenserade materiens fysik, Condensed Matter Physics. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-06); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: In the coming years, our main theme will remain strongly correlated quantum systems in low dimensions, with a continued emphasis on Quantum Hall systems, but also moving towards other topologically ordered systems, initially topological superconductors and later also topological insulators. In QH physics we will pursue our long-term project to give a comprehensive description of hierarchical QH states, and to find a microscopic derivation of our theory. We will also continue developing a topological field theory description of two- and three-dimensional chiral superconductors together with colleagues in Stockholm and Tokyo The second theme is quantum devices, where we maintain interest in design, control and readout of Josepson junction circuits coupled to electromagnetic environments, but also intend to pursue new ideas related to charge fractionalization on the edges of quantum Hall bars. The long-term goal is novel designs in the field of quantum information, and proposals for realistic experiments to test fundamental tenets of quantum physics. Here our group has worked closely with the nanophysics group at KTH, and we hope to deepen this collaboration as well as with the experimental condensed matter group at Stockholm University led by prof. V. Krasnov. Our work is part of the ongoing effort at AlbaNova to develop a strong profile in the related areas of strongly correlated quantum systems, quantum electronics, quantum information processing, and quantum optics.
