Project funded by Swedish Research Council (Project grant), grant 2008-04260_VR. Participating organisations named by the source: Stockholm University. Funded amount: SEK 1,950,000, as stated by the source. Runs 2009-01-01 to 2011-12-31. Keywords: Oklassificerat, Unclassified. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2025-12-06); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: In the coming years, we envision two main directions of research. Our main theme remains strongly correlated quantum systems in low dimensions, with an emphasis on the Quantum Hall effect. In particular we want to extend the methods we have developed during the last few years to non-Abelian QH states and bosonic states relevant for cold atom physics. Among several other open questions we hope to address, we mention: Are there signatures for Luttinger liquid physics at the even denominator QH states? Is there a microscopic derivation of the effective theories for the hierarchy states? Is there a conformal field theory description of quasihole condensates? Our second theme is the theory of quantum devices – especially design, control and readout of Josepson junction circuits coupled to various electromagnetic environments. The long term goal is novel designs in the field of quantum information, and the developing field of metamaterials. On this project we work in close collaboration with the nanophysics group at KTH, which is also located in the AlbaNova university center. Our work is part of the ongoing effort at AlbaNova to develop a strong profile in the related areas of strongly correlated quantum systems, quantum electronics, quantum information processing, and quantum optics. In particular, we are interested in developing collaborations with the experimental condensed matter group led by prof. V. Krasnov.
