The push to develop a large-scale quantum computer has recently accelerated, putting cryptographers under pressure to ready their theory for quantum threats and opportunities. Christian Majenz is taming quantum attackers by bounding their power against hash functions, and solidify the quantum foundation of cryptography. Results from this project include security proofs for a number of cryptographic schemes of practical relevance, including post-quantum-secure digital signature schemes and light-weight cryptographic algorithms.
