Project funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT), grant 2020.05861.BD. Runs 2020-09-01 to 2024-08-31. Source: OpenAIRE Graph, from the funder's project data (collected by OpenAIRE on 2026-07-23); national funding data, not CORDIS. Abstract given by the source: Measurement-based quantum computation (MBQC) is a model equivalent to the quantum circuit model, but driven by stronger-than-classical correlations between outcomes of adaptively-chosen measurements on entangled multi-qubit states. This project aims at studying different issues concerning time-ordering in MBQC. Clifford circuits and IQP circuits are classes of circuits simulable in MBQC without the need for adaptativity – one goal is to characterize this broad class of circuits. A related problem is that of space and depth trade-offs possible in the MBQC evaluation of Boolean functions, and the role of adaptativity there. This will set the scene for the study of MBQC with little adaptativity, which is relevant for near-term photonic quantum computers. Finally, we would like to investigate the role of quantum contextuality not just in non-adaptive MBQC, but in MBQC with limited adaptativity.
