Operation co-funded by EU cohesion policy (European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) under the programme Multi-regional Spain - ERDF (2014ES16RFOP002), managing authority: Subdirección General de Gestión del FEDER, de la Dirección General de Fondos Europeos del Ministerio de Hacienda.. The source names no beneficiary for this operation. Location: Spain. Budget: total eligible expenditure EUR 648,751.6; EU co-financing EUR 324,375.8 (co-financing rate 50%), as stated by the source. Runs 2019-01-01 to 2021-12-31. Source: Kohesio, EU cohesion policy projects managed by national and regional authorities (not CORDIS); selected because its summary names quantum technology. Summary from Kohesio (English machine translation by the source): Magnetometers are a basic characterization tool in research centers devoted to the development of new materials with relevant properties for applications in magnetism, communications, health, environment and energy. In our case, we have a magnetometer purchased in 1993, with a long record of use, legally amortized and at the end of the lifecycle, moreover the company send recently a communication to all the owner of these equipments announcing the end of the maintenance support (after 26 years). As consequence, we request to purchase a new generation magnetometer, based of the SQUID-VSM technology. The available new generation of very high resolution magnetometers, i.e. SQUID-VSM allow magnetic resolution in the order of 10-7-10-8 emu, which are 1 -2 orders of magnitude better than the precedent systems. On the other side, the magnetic field range allowed is +/- 7 Tesla and the temperature range between 2K to 1000K. With this type of magnetometer we will be able to develop an intense research programme in the development and characterization of materials with applications in spintronic, topological insulators, low dimensional systems (2D), magnetic nano-sytems. The society challenges to which we will contribute to progress span from transport, environment, energy (permanent magnets and superconductors), health (nano medicine, based of magnetic nano-particles), communications (recording and storage systems and sensors). Also, the Flagships of Quantum Technologies and Graphene
