Quantum Europe briefing: privacy note
Legal and privacy: 7 views
Demonstration site: this note is owner-reviewed for demonstration (28 October 2026) and is not a legal review. The data controller is the portal owner, Oscar Diez, who operates this demonstration in a personal capacity. The briefing is a pilot and is switched off on this demonstration site.
- Purpose: send signed-in members who ask for it a personalised summary of public portal content, in the portal and, if they choose, by e-mail.
- Legal basis: your consent, given separately on the opt-in form and recorded with its time and the wording version (newsletter-2026-10-22). You can withdraw it at any time.
- Stored with your account: your choices (frequency, topics, technology areas, countries, e-mail yes or no), the consent times and wording version, the time of the last issue, the dates and ids of your issues, a random feed address and a random unsubscribe code. Nothing else.
- Not stored: what you open, read or click. The e-mail is plain text with no images and no tracking pixel; links point straight to portal pages.
- Your e-mail address is the one of your account. It is read only when an issue is sent and is passed to the portal’s outgoing mail service for that purpose only.
- Giving or withdrawing consent is written to the portal’s audit log (account id, time and the purpose, never content), which keeps entries for 12 months.
- Retention: until you unsubscribe or delete your account; the archive keeps your last 26 issues.
- Withdrawal: the unsubscribe link in every e-mail, or Unsubscribe on the briefing page, deletes all of the above at once.
- Issues contain only content that anyone can see on the public portal.
Questions about your data: use the feedback form when signed in, or the contact details on the About page.
