Publications by category
A category is shown once at least 10 of its projects have been checked. Publications per EUR 1 million divide the publications linked to its checked projects by their EU contribution. Pillars follow one method across the portal: the confirmed classification of a project where there is one, else the taxonomy rules on its title, else the snapshot keyword suggestion when a keyword matched; a project that matches none of them is "Not placed in a pillar" and is counted apart, not under enabling technologies. A project in several pillars is split evenly between them; post-quantum cryptography is shown apart. Use "Without post-quantum cryptography" to leave those projects out: their publications are often about cryptography or network security rather than quantum technology.

Method and caveats
- Links between publications and projects come from the OpenAIRE Graph (CC BY 4.0), read in the background for each CORDIS project published on the portal; project data come from CORDIS, Publications Office of the European Union.
- OpenAIRE links publications to projects from the metadata it aggregates. Linking is incomplete: publications OpenAIRE has not linked to a grant are missing, and some links may be wrong. A link is an association, not a verified project result.
- Publications are counted per project: a paper linked to several projects counts once for each, so totals and categories can count the same paper more than once.
- Each project's count is OpenAIRE's full count, but only its 5 most recent publications are stored. The recent publications and the venues describe that recent sample, not all publications.
- Publications per EUR 1 million relate publications to the EU contribution of the checked projects only. Projects differ in length and field, and recent projects have had less time to publish, so compare categories with care.
- Categories with fewer than 10 checked projects are not shown. Stored results are refreshed after 14 days.
