Research collaboration between European organisations and companies

How often European companies and other European organisations appear together on arXiv quant-ph preprints, per pair of countries and, where both have a page on the portal, per pair of organisations. Affiliations and countries come from OpenAlex; organisations are matched to portal pages through their ROR IDs. Counts of preprints only: no researcher is named, and a count says nothing about the quality or impact of the work.

9 preprints co-authored by a European company and another European organisation, read over 1 months of the period; in 0 of them both organisations have a page on the portal.

Country pairs

Organisation pairs: in none of these preprints do both organisations have a page on the portal yet, so no pair of organisations is named.

  • Source: the arXiv API, new quant-ph submissions read daily, two days after submission (one request every 3.5 seconds; metadata CC0 1.0), and OpenAlex works found by the arXiv DOI (CC0 1.0), fifty per request within a small daily budget. A preprint without institutions yet is looked up again daily for its first week, then every three days for 30 days.
  • An organisation is European when OpenAlex places it in the EU, EFTA, the United Kingdom or a country associated to Horizon Europe, and it is shown when its ROR ID matches a portal organisation.
  • Technology families come from the OpenAlex topics through a curated mapping to the shared taxonomy (checked 2026-10-25); a pillar is narrowed to one family only when the taxonomy keyword rules find exactly one family of it in the title and abstract. Preprints without a mapped topic are shown as "Other quantum".
  • Order: the number of European portal organisations (up to five), then the newest. Nothing is ranked by impact, citations or venue.
  • Stored: the arXiv identifier, title, a short abstract for 45 days, categories, submission date, DOI and journal reference (left out when it names an author), and the organisations, topics and funders OpenAlex records. No author name is stored or shown.
  • Country pairs count preprints with a European company and another European organisation, on the portal or not; organisation pairs only those where both have a portal page. Counting started when the connector was switched on, so the 36-month view fills over time.
