France Hybrid HPC Quantum Initiative (HQI) platform

Type
Quantum computing user platform
Technology
Hybrid HPC–quantum platform coupled to the Joliot-Curie supercomputer: Ruby (analogue neutral-atom system controlling 100 rubidium atoms), Lucy (12-photon photonic QPU) and Qaptiva QPU emulation
Location
Bruyères-le-Châtel, France
Host
TGCC (CEA), with GENCI (organisation profile)
Programme
HQI, launched on 4 January 2022 under the French National Quantum Plan; Ruby and Lucy are co-funded by the EuroHPC JU
Status
In operation, per the source. The source says HQI serves French and European academic and industrial researchers who want to evaluate quantum computing free of charge on a public infrastructure. Time on Ruby and Lucy is requested through GENCI's DARI allocation process, with at most 100 hours on the quantum partition. Ruby and Lucy also have their own entries.
